Peer mentoring allows individuals to create expectations and goals for their future, develop a sense of self advocacy, and get connected to community resources. Most importantly the program allows mentees to gain life skills that promote independence.
As part of Pre-employment transition services for youth enrolled in an educational program, this offering provides empowerment and support for mentees ranging in age from 14-24. The goals of the program are to teach self-advocacy, connect with resources, and get involved within the community. Our mentors and coaches provide support for post-secondary education, apprenticeships, trade school and volunteer/employment opportunities. This service typically lasts for 4-6 months. |
